Our History & Achievements

London Medical Education Academy was founded by Angela Spang. The surgical training organisation continues to grow and has accomplished many good things since it was first established in 2015. Take a look below for an outline of our standout achievements so far:

The month of June was an exciting one for surgical training and safer surgery. We held our first Inaugural Facial Anatomy: Dissect and Inject course in collaboration with BACN, broadening our reach and improving patient outcomes.

Excitingly, we were awarded the Bill Bendyshe-Brown Award for SME Business Excellence 2017. The award celebrates achievements of excellence among small and medium sized enterprises in the Buckinghamshire area.

In May, we held our first courses in Glasgow: Laparoscopic Urogynaecology Advanced Masterclass and Native Continence Surgery. Both classes received great feedback and we’re looking forward to next ones.

Our courses are listed on the BAUS website and also with RCSed.

2016 was a busy year. We were nominated as best new business in the Buckinghamshire business awards and were listed on the American British Health Institute website. Our courses were also listed on NFOG website and we were awarded CPD accreditation by the CPD Standards Office.

We held our first course designed specifically for physiotherapists, and in the September, we became members of the G4 Alliance. We welcomed our Operations Manager, Liz Thornber and held an exciting cadaver masterclass in Chile in the October.

In 2015 LMEDAC welcomed the first full-time staff member and organised our first London masterclass. We sponsored the BSUG Best Poster and gained ICS Recognition for the Cadaver Masterclass Anatomy & Surgery (Urogynaecology). 2015 was also the year we gained EACCME approval.
